i-education : Relationship management and technology innovation
In recent years, more and more parents are working, so they do not have much time to follow their children’s academic results. They rely and trust teachers with helping their children for learning. However, it is too late when parents return home and only have little time to comprehend their children’s school life.
A teacher’s job is to not only teach but to also keep a good relationship between students and parents. Teachers have to take care of students’ emotions and keep an eye on their learning progress so that they can try their best way to help students. At the same time, teachers need to report their students’ performance and difficulties at school to parents because parents do not know what had happened during the school time.
According to this, teachers have an important role to manage the relationship between parents and students. Technology is a good way to maintain this balance. We make a platform for parents to know their children performance in class. All of the students’ results, teacher’s comment and class photos are uploaded so parents can know their children’s school life and progress more. This case drives us to achieve the relationship management and technology innovation.
Meanwhile, to design an easy use platform to fit all the parents it a bit challenges because are not good at technology. They found a bit difficult to find the video or pictures of their children or some parents request more high resolution of the video so they can see clearly of their children etc. After getting the opinion from them, we discuss with the IT team to solve the problem. We added a search function at the corner of the system, parents only need to key their children’s name and the related result will be show at the bottom, they can click it what ever they need. For the resolution, we will only adjust a little because it will increase the file size and takes more time to download. However , we are still working hard with the IT team to improve the quality of the video.
From the case study, we can learn that the platform with the innovation and technology has a great value to help the relationship management between teachers and parents
Case study 1 : iPhonics
iPhonics is a new course established by i-education. It aims to help students to learn phonics with the related animals sounds or vocabularies. Most of the students can handle the sounds and build up the many spelling of the words. However, some of parents worry their children a lot because their children cannot manage the phonic very well. Their children spell the words wrongly and even cannot memorize the phonics sound.
It is one of the common phonemes for students who are learning phonics. Teachers understand theirs worry and a platform is need to be created in order to let parents know their children performance during the lessons.
The platform has been well designed by our IT team. It mainly has 3 functions. The first one is for teacher to upload their comment about their students learning progress. The second one is for parents writing comment to the teacher about their feedback to teachers. The last one is for teachers upload a pictures or live videos about students performance during the lessons ( e.g. personal short speech ). Parents will have a account to log in and go into the interface they needed.
This platform are welcomed by the parents a lot after it lounged because they can know their children progress and have interaction with the teacher via the internet. Teachers got many feedback or suggestions by the parents and the quality of the teaching is improving day by day. The platform are adding more and more functions and planning to expand it uses in future.
Case study 2 : iSTEM
STEM is become more popular in school teaching curriculum because it involved Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics. It requires students to think wisely by observing daily life.
There is a set of DIY teaching kid for each topic. Students have to build up a simple model to study the science theory. Each kid has a small booklet to explain about the theory of the kid. Most students can build up the model in the class but it is hard for them to represent the idea to their parents about the learning in the class. It makes their parents they only had a art class rather than STEM class.
So we make use of the platform again and upload the class video onto the platform. Parents can know what had been taught in the class and how their students responded. Teachers can even upload students craft picture to show the parents about their children’s work. After that, many parents gave many feedback about the class. The relationship between teacher and parents are more strengthen.

作為一間教育機構，互動教育除了教授學生知識外還希望把「正能量」在學校和社會宣揚出去，而且我們亦相信「正能量」力量無窮，可以將快樂傳遞給別人。互動教育積極參與及支持各種義工活動，例如到訪學校為學生提供為期6-8堂的生涯規劃讓他們認識自我以挑選將來合適的工作 ; 或與一些視障人士一起製作小手工，令他們知道即使視覺比其他人弱仍然可以做到一些簡單的工作，給予他們信心 ; 定期探訪老人，給他們關懷和鼓勵，令他們覺得人生有希望，退休後就不代表會失去人生目標。
互動教育視員工為重要的資產，本著有同理心勝於一切。員工和上司之間會經常溝通了解他們工作上困難，提供配套或指引他們如何解決工作上的困難 ; 員工若因私人問題而需更改上班時間，亦可以私下向上司申報，公司亦會了解情況之後作出合理的安排。從而提升員工的歸屬感，令大家開心。
